Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Android Developer with a minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in Android application development. As the Lead Android Developer, you will lead a team of developers in designing, building, and maintaining innovative and user-centric Android applications. The ideal candidate should be a technical expert with a passion for creating high-quality mobile solutions and a track record of successful app delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Android developers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and coaching to ensure the team's success and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to gather and translate requirements into technical specifications and actionable tasks.
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications that deliver exceptional user experiences and adhere to best practices and coding standards.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and Android platform updates to ensure the integration of new features and capabilities into applications.
  • Lead the architecture and technical design of Android applications, making informed decisions on frameworks, libraries, and technologies to use.
  • Oversee the development of APIs and integration points, ensuring efficient communication with back-end services and databases.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications, identifying and resolving defects and performance issues.
  • Optimize app performance and user interactions to ensure smooth and responsive experiences on a variety of Android devices.
  • Lead code reviews, providing constructive feedback and driving the adoption of best practices and coding standards within the team.
  • Maintain documentation of codebase, technical specifications, and user guides to support effective communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to drive efficient project delivery.
  • Contribute to the improvement of development methodologies, tools, and processes within the team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in Android application development, including experience leading or managing a development team.
  • Proven expertise in developing native Android applications using Java or Kotlin.
  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and relevant libraries and frameworks.
  • Experience with design patterns, architecture components, and best practices in Android development.
  • Proficiency in integrating APIs and web services, as well as working with JSON and RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration and deployment tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards addressing technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in mentoring or leading other developers is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with mobile UI/UX design principles and user-centered design approaches.
  • Knowledge of mobile security best practices is a plus.
